Attitudes to tap water in public

A recent YouGov study for Keep Britain Tidy found that a large portion of the population aren't aware of our rights around the availability of water out of the house. Our bodies require a regular intake of water to survive and function, and Water UK believes that an extension to the availability of tap water would be a positive step for public health

Water companies maintain high standards for developers

The water industry is continuing to play its part in the delivery of new homes in the UK by maintaining high standards of services to developers. The overall numbers remain high, with performance for this quarter at 97% for water supply and 100% for sewerage services between September and December.

Efra Committee report supports positions adopted by Water UK

Opening the water retail market

The launch of the water retail market in England on the 1st April marked the successful delivery of one of the largest and most complicated industry-wide change programmes ever undertaken by the water sector. More than 1.2 million businesses, charities and public sector customers in England, from micro businesses and SMEs to large corporates and the public sector, can now choose their water retailer for the first time.

Water is open for business

From today (1st April 2017), up to 1.2 million businesses and other non-household customers in England are now able to choose their supplier of water and wastewater retail services. This marks the extension of retail competition in the non-household water supply market to England, following its earlier introduction in Scotland.
